Abstract


Abstrak.  Lensa mata terdiri dari tiga bagian utama  kapsul Jensa, sel epitel Jensa (pada bagian anterior) dan sel serat  lensa.  Lensa  mata  berasal  dari surface  ectoderm.    Sel  epitel lensa memegang peran  utama  dalam mempertahankan kejemihan Jensa karena merupakan pusat metabolisme energi lensa mata dan berperan dalam menjaga pertumbuhan serta homeostasis lensa. Kejemihan lensa dipertahankan oleh susunan serat lensa yang sedemikian padat  dan  sangat  teratur  serta  keseragaman distribusi dan  komposisi protein  di  dalam lensa, (JKS 2010;3:153-156)

Abstract.  The lens consists of three main parts: Jens capsule, Jens epithelial cells (on the anterior) and Jens fiber cells.  The  Jens is  originated  from  the  ectoderm· surface. Lens  epithelial cells play  an  important role  in maintaining the clarity of the lens as it is a center of energy metabolism. Lens epithelial cells also  has a role in maintaining the growth and homeostasis of the lens. Lens clarity is maintained by the lens fibers structure which is solid and regular and also has homogeneous protein distribution and composition. (JKS 2010;3:153-156)
