ANALISIS PENGGUNAAN ALAT PELINDUNG MATA PADA PEKERJA LAS
Abstract
Abstract. Welding shop is one of the informal work is at risk for accidents and occupational diseases. During the welding process workers can be exposed directly by a foreign object or radiation from visible light, infrared and ultraviolet rays that affect the eye. The research objective was to analyze the use of eye protection in welding workers. Analytic study was observational with cross sectional design of the survey conducted in five welding shop Shiite District of Kuala Banda Aceh. The samples were all workers at five welding workshop in 2015 were taken by non-probability sampling techniques total population. Data analysis using Chi-Square Test on CI 95% and α = 0.05. The results showed that workers welding good knowledge 76.9% likely to use protective eyewear while only 36.4% less knowledgeable use eye protection appliance with prevalent Ratio (RP) of 2.12 and a p-value of 0.025. Workers weld to be agreed 76% likely to use eye protection while being not agree 41.7% using a protective eyewear with RP 1.82 and p-value 0.048. The conclusion of this research is there is a relationship of knowledge with the use of eye protection and there is a relationship attitude with the use of eye protection in welding shop workers Shiite District of Kuala Banda Aceh.
