EFEKTIFITAS MINI-CEX TERHADAP HASIL EVALUASI PRAKTIK PEMERIKSAAN KEHAMILAN DI KLINIK BERSALIN KABUPATEN DELI SERDANG

Abstract


ABSTRAK

Metode evaluasi yang digunakan oleh institusi pendidikan diploma tiga kebidanan untuk menilai keterampilan mahasiswa saat praktik klinik pada pemeriksaan kehamilan diantaranya ratting scale, case based discussion, portofolio (laporan) dan observasi. Namun belum ada satu metode evaluasi yang dianggap dapat berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa. Hal ini disebabkan perbedaan persepsi tentang pembelajaran klinik dan belum adanya pengembangan metode evaluasi pada pembelajaran keterampilan kinik kebidanan. Evaluasi menggunakan mini-cex merupakan strategi penting untuk pencapaian kompetensi mahasiswa melakukan pemeriksaan kehamilan. Dengan bukti bahwa mini-cex merupakan alat evaluasi yang realistis menilai keterampilan klinis mahasiswa. Untuk itu penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan menguji efektivitas instrumen mini-cex dalam mengevaluasi mahasiswa melakukan pemeriksaan kehamilan pada saat praktik klinik kebidanan. Desain penelitian berupa rancangan quasi eksperimen dengan posttest only with control group design, jumlah sampel kelompok kontrol dan intervensi masing-masing sebanyak 29 orang. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama 2 bulan pada 16 klinik bersalin Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Ratting scale digunakan pada kelompok kontrol dan mini-cex pemeriksaan kehamilan pada kelompok intervensi dan data dianalisis menggunakan uji Man-Whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hasil evaluasi praktik pemeriksaan kehamilan kelompok intervensi dengan kelompok kontrol lebih tinggi rerata pada kelompok intervensi yaitu sebesar 79,21 dan pada kelompok kontrol sebesar 71,10, uji statistik terdapat perbedaan rerata secara signifikan antara kelompok intervensi dan kelompok kontrol dengan p-value (0,000). Diharapkan instrumen mini-cex dapat digunakan pada setiap praktik klinik kebidanan pada institusi pendidikan kebidanan sehingga dapat meningkatkan keterampilan mahasiswa dalam melakukan praktik terutama pemeriksaan kehamilan.

ABSTRACT

The evaluation methods commonly used in higher education diploma in midwifery to evaluate students’ competence during clinical practice in performing antenatal care are ratting scale, case-based discussion, portfolio assessment (report), and observation. However, it is argued that these methods still give low contribution in increasing students’ achievement. It might be because there are perception discrepancies on clinical learning and undeveloped evaluation methods on clinical skill learning in midwifery. To overcome these issues, the evaluation utilizing mini-cex might become a strategy to enhance students’ competence in performing antenatal care. Mini cex is considered as a more realistic measurement tool to assess students’ clinical competence. Thus, this study was conducted to examine the effectiveness of mini-cex as an assessment method in assessing students’ competence in performing antenatal care during their clinical practice. This study was designed in quasi experimental setting employing post test only with control group design. The total number of participants in each group, control group and intervention group, was 29. The present study was conducted for 2 months in 16 maternity clinics in Deli Serdang Regency. Ratting scale was employed to evaluate students’ competence in performing antenatal care in the control group and mini-Cex used in the intervention group. The data was analysed by performing Man-Whitney. It was obtained that the average score of  students’ evaluation result in performing antenatal care in the intervention group was higher, i.e. 79.21, than that of in the control group, i.e. 71.10. Based on statistical analysis, it was found that there was a significantly different average score between students in the intervention group and the control group with p value was 0.000. It is suggested that mini-Cex can be used in higher education diploma in midwifery to enhance students’ competence in performing antenatal care during clinical pratice.
