MOTIVASI BELAJAR MAHASISWA SELAMA MENGIKUTI PENDIDIKAN TINGGI KEPERAWATAN

Abstract


ABSTRAK

Pendidikan tinggi keperawatan bertujuan mengembangkan potensi diri mahasiswa dalam menggali pengetahuan dan keterampilan. Iklim akademik harus menjamin kebebasan mahasiswa menggali pengetahuan dan keterampilan secara mandiri, sedangkan pendidik hanya berfungsi sebagai fasilitator, katalisator, dan motivator dalam pencapaian tujuan pemeblajaran. Institusi pendidikan tinggi keperawatan harus memperkuat faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi memotivasi mahasiswa selama proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendapatkan gambaran secara kualitativ tentang apa yang dipersepsikan mahasiswa sebagai pendorong motivasi belajar. Jumlah sampel penelitian adalah 6 orang mahasiswa yang dipilih menggunakan tekhnik kuota sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan deep interview, dan hasilnya dianalisa menggunakan qualitative content analysis. Hasil penelitian didapatkan tujuh faktor motivasi internal, sepuluh faktor motivasi eksternal, dan satu faktor motivasi terdesak. Rekomendasi kepada penyelenggara pendidikan keperawatan untuk melakukan penguatan terhadap faktor-faktor yang memotivasi mahasiswa selama proses pendidikan keperawatan dalam upaya meningkatkan keberhasilan mahasiswa.

ABSTRACT

Higher education is organized to develope self-potential of students to strengthen and elevate their knowledge and skills. Academic climate in higher education must ensure students freedom independently in exploring their knowledge and skills, while the teachers serve only as facilitator, motivator, and catalyst in achieving education goals. To increase  learning goals achievement of students, education providers have to strengthen motivation factors in learning process.Therefore this study aims to explore what the students think about the factors that motivate them in learning process. The study use six students as sample who selected by using quota sampling technique. The sample was distributed in all academic year, and researcher choose two students as sample in each academic year by using purposive technique. Data colecting was done by using deep interview, and the data was analyzed by using qualitative contents analysis.The study has indentified seven internal factors, ten external factors, and one recessive factor. In related to this study, the reasearcher recomends to nursing higher education provider to strengthen the factors that motivate students in learning process to enhance students interest and motivation.
