KUALITAS HIDUP PASIEN KANKER SERVIKS: PENGALAMAN PASIEN SUKU BATAK TOBA

Abstract


ABSTRAK

Kanker seviks menimbulkan masalah tersendiri bagi perempuan yang mengalaminya karena kanker ini berhubungan dengan perubahan pada organ reproduksi perempuan sehingga akan berdampak pada kualitas hidup penderitanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali makna kualitas hidup pasien kanker serviks: pengalaman pasien suku Batak Toba. Penelitian ini merupakan studi fenomenologi deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan indept interview dan fieldnote. Patisipan berjumlah 12 orang suku Batak Toba yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Wawancara dilakukan di rumah sakit, peneliti terlebih dahulu melakukan kontrak. Hasil wawancara dianalisis dengan metode pendekatan Colaizzi. Hasil analisis penelitian ditemukan 6 tema yaitu: perubahan aktivitas fisik, efek samping terapi, perubahan psikologis, perubahan interaksi sosial, dampak budaya, dan kegiatan spiritual. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disarankan agar perawat dapat memberikan pelayanan keperawatan bagi perempuan yang menderita kanker serviks untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidupnya dengan memperhatikan faktor budaya karena budaya dapat mempengaruhi aspek harapan, kesehatan dan penyakit.

ABSTRACT

Cervical cancer has a specific problem in women who undergo it because of the change in their reproductive organ which will eventually influence their life quality. The objective of the research was to analyze the meaning of life quality in Batak Toba cervical carcer patients. The research was a descriptive phenomenological study. The data were gathered by conducting in - depth interviews and field notes. There were 12 Batak Toba participans, taken by using purposive sampling technique. Interviews were conducted in the hospital by having cantract before the interviews took place. The result of interviews was analyzed by using Collaizzi approach. The result of the research showed that there were six themes: change in physical activity, side effect of the therapy, psychological change, social interaction change, cultural change and spiritual activity. It is commended that nurses provide nursing care for cervical cancer women in order to increase their life quality by paying attention to cultural factor because culture can influence the aspects of hope, health and sickness.
